2nd Germany-Brazil in-situ workshop









The development of promising new functional materials, with a wide range of applications in e.g. batteries, lighting, sensors and medicine, can be achieved by elucidating the mechanisms behind the formation of the solid materials. Therefore, the aimed control over the influence of synthesis parameters on structure formation and consequently on structure-related properties is of great importance for the improvement and tunability of properties such as luminescence and magnetism, conductivity, pore or particle size and interlayer space.
Moreover, the rational development of such materials contribute for instance to the production of environmental friendly energy-saving electronic devices or for the advance of medical diagnosis. 
This workshop aims to combine the expertise of the German participants on studying mechanisms of formation of solid materials, for example, by in-situ characterization methods with the expertize of the participants of the universities of the Brazilian São Paulo state on the development of new functional materials exemplified above.
